- I became a vegetarian in 1981. I discovered the raw food diet in 2003. I was 100% raw for a year and then started eating some cooked food again--although I remained vegan. In May of 2008, I decided to go 100% raw again. Things have changed a lot since the time I was raw before. I enjoy a living foods lifestyle now and glad I gave eating raw food a second chance.
